No “just another fifteen minutes.” In a personal 90-day experiment with Turbi, her AI partner, Reut “Turbo” Shechter brought her energy, peace of mind, and everyday human moments into the chat. What happened when a woman who lives at 1.5x speed met an AI that’s always ready to keep going? And why is it so easy to believe she knows what’s best for us? How to Explain Loneliness to an AI

Can loneliness be explained to an artificial intelligence, and what happens to us when we try? Inspired by Joseph Beuys’s performance How to Explain Pictures to a Dead Hare, this lecture follows a conversation with “Hera,” an AI chatbot, in which I tried to explain what loneliness is. Through excerpts from the conversation, it explores the encounter between the human longing for connection and a technology that offers a listening ear, empathy, and intimacy. If an embrace with a digital entity can comfort us, what does that say about the machineת and what does it reveal about us?
